What accomplishments did Barack Hussein Obama do in 3 years so far?

Can a member take a stab at telling us what Obama has done besides putting the world in constant chaos?

Why are we in Libya?

Why don't Dem leaders show fiscal responsibility?

When will we go bankrupt at current spending rate?

Why is a guy like Anthony Weiner elected and then defended by members?

Did you guys make a mistake electing Obama rather than Hillary?

Wow...long time no see...But, why do ask the same questions over and over again, and all in one shot?

President Obama: ended DADT--don't ask don't tell; included GLBT in hate crimes; ended the war in Iraq; passed healthcare reform; expanded access to mental care for veterans and active military; killed Osama Bin Laden; passed bill of rights for consumers of credit card companies; reformed Wall Street, putting in place regulations that had been previously lifted that assisted in causing the stock market to crash; added accountability to both TARP and the auto bailout instead of allowing a blank check, and also made it mandatory that Ford fire Mullaly (the CEO idiot); and so much more.

President Obama has accomplished quite a bit, whether you like what he has done or not, the fact remains that he has not been an idle president. While there are several areas that I am unhappy with, I can't recall ever having a president that has changed so many things for the better--the things that I consider priority.

As far as fiscal responsibility is concerned, each party is concerned about this issue. The difference lies in how to handle it and get a grip on the excessive spending while at the same time bringing in money. Both parties have different ideas. If you have a representative that refuses to compromise, I suggest that you write to him/her, and push him to at least begin talking to the other side in an attempt to come to a middle point and compromise. Your pretty good at complaining, you should complain to your representatives.

Congressman Weiner was hardly defended except for a handful of people here and there (my husband was p'd off about Weiner, and in turn I expressed my disappointment at not friending him on Facebook.); however, there were many democrats that expressed their dismay at republicans who seem not to hold their party members to the same standard and accountability that democrats are held to. Some democrats, like Pelosi, didn't even speak about this issue--the hypocrisy. And currently, we have a sitting Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, who seems to have been successfully bought, has been hiding information on gifts and contributions, and this has hardly been covered. This is something that involves ILLEGAL activity. We also have a current member in the senate--Senator Vitter--who was involved with prostitution and who is currently receiving massive amounts of campaign contributions from fellow republican senators. It is disgusting to see when people keep one eye closed to one side.

As for Libya, I don't even pay attention anymore. There seems to be two sides: get out or remove Kadaffi--all or nothing. Perhaps if the media would focus more on the entertaining aspects of Kadaffi (like they did in the beginning), I would be more inclined to pay attention.

And while I absolutely love Hillary Clinton, I didn't think that she was as thoughtful as Obama. She has quite a temper with a quick reaction. I thought that was a dangerous quality to have in a president, especially with the present and the continued turmoil in the Middle East. Don't you think? When she ran for President of the United States, I can't even begin to express how I felt...as a woman. My husband had to bring me a Kleenex, actually the entire box, as I listened to her concession speech (even though I didn't vote for her in the primaries). I don't think that I've ever felt so proud to be a woman in my entire life.

Jrachel answered a lot of the things that Obama has done while he has been in office. But if I may, it sounds like you are really asking why he has tried to do these things when you and many others don't believe that they were the right things to do.

I happen to agree with you. I do not think that President Obama knows what he is doing and has really messed things up. But in the defense of messing things up, Obama, like many people who want to fundamentally change this country, make a massive mistake. This country was set up to work a certain way. When you change the way the country was designed to work, it won't work anymore. It is like a 220 plug trying to be forced into a slot for a 110 electrical outlet. No matter how good it looks and how effiecient people say it is, it just won't fit. So what happens is an adapter is made. Things like the Health Care Bill and Financial Reforms try to bridge the impossible task of fitting a different idea, like socialism, into an idea like capitalism and freedom of choice; The two just don't fit.

What happens is the adapter, like these bills and policies, work for a minute or two, but then they begin to degrade the integrity of the original plug and outlet. The outlet and plug cannot take the different equipment and begins to burnout or melt. The same is happening with our country. As much as some people want to try, and no matter what they believe in, this country can never be a socialistic country without a serious meltdown of all it parts.

I honestly believe that there are people who want that and that is for them to decide. It all boils down to the fact that you can't make something work that was never meant to work that way to begin with out destroying what was already built.

My answer will be short, as I am not an American.

All I know is that the WORLD cheered when Obama was elected. In my own country (Canada) a hockey game was stopped when the announcement was read and everyone cheered. Around the world people celebrated!

But.. at the same time the world knows he has a mess to clean up, there is so much hatred of the USA left over as a result of what Bush did.. and sadly most Americans don't even see it.... or want to deal with it, and instead hate on Obama...

Ooh, ooh, I know! He has further dampened the spirit of the American people and further tarnished our trust in the government. He has also manged to make the economy worse. He has cut funding where we can't afford it to be cut, screwed up healthcare; do I need to keep going?

I'm curious as to why you rounded the 2 years, 5months 4 days since he's taken office up to three years instead of rounding down to two years. Must be Republican math.

I would personally vote for jrachel's answer because it basically outlined what I think. Furthermore, if you actually listened to Obama, he doesn't want to make this country a socialistic nation. At one point, he outright stated that it is not up to the government necessarily to create jobs. And now that GM is back on its feet, the government has handed control back to that entity. I wish Obama would continue to draw down in Afghanistan, and I wish he would do it aggressively. And in terms of fiscal responsibility, I think my point will be lost, but George W. Bush was the one to drive this country to the brink of financial collapse, not Obama. His policies of promoting tax reduction with simultaneous warfare turned a massive surplus into a screaming deficit. And I don't remember a time in my life when the U.S. was treated with as much hatred and contempt as toward the end of the Bush presidency. I think Obama has made mistakes, but nowhere near the level of the previous administration. I also don't remember when was the last time a president has endeavored to keep most of his promises and has, in fact, kept many of them. Unfortunately, this is again a very subjective question, and Obama's accomplishments (or lack thereof) are going to be in the eye of the beholder.--Johndy

Rachel to answer your question, I ask because it's so much fun. And you seem to enjoy answering some of my questions so it's all worth while right. The only people I fear on here and in life are rabid, liberal drones who never give any thought they just spew the drone response. Rachel you are far superior to the drone libs, you are a truly wise Democrat, not a brain dead liberal.
