I`ve moved from SC to Missouri. can I ask Missouri family court to increase child support?

My exhusband pays $550 per month for 3 kids. We divorced in SC. Courts allowed me to move with kids to Missouri.
I get no alimony and I need to file bankruptcy. I can't find a job that can pay enough to support 3 kids. In sddition, I'm responsible for paying 1/2
Travel to and from SC. We've been living with family for the past 10 months-we hsve to move out in 3 weeks.
Bottom line- my exhusband has buried me financially, I have no where to go and no job. My exhusband is unwilling to pay more and has been sucessful at hiding
Income. All I'm asking for is $500 more per month. Can I ask Missouri Family Court to modify SC order. South Carolina has one of the worst
Child support worksheets in the country.

South Carolina would have to agree to release the child support order to Missouri and Missouri would have to agree to accept it. At that point, you could file through them. You can contact Missouri's child support office at 1-866-313-9960. They should be able to tell you if they can help you and what their process is. Good luck and best wishes.

PS Personally, I don't know HOW he got away with that amount. I am in SC and my son pays $529 a month for ONE child and only makes $12.50 an hour.

Child support is based on the state in which the divorce took place, or if the husband moves, child support could then be based on the laws of his new state.

Just because you moved, it doesn't change the amount your ex has to pay.

I agree that seems to be an awfully low amount for 3 kids, but your attorney and the judge in your divorce agreed to that amount.
