It really surprises me to see there are people who don't save their pay stubs... I've got pay stubs from jobs I worked 20 years ago (and even further back) If storing the stubs is a problem, buy a scanner and at least keep them on your computer.

I've got a ton of things I keep "on file" and if I want to get rid of the files, it gets stored on my computer.

Having those records can become important for things like buying a home, IRS audits and all kinds of other things...

You can obtain them provided that the liquidator has access to the company payroll files. In any liquidation or bankruptcy the records are retained by the liquidator and are one of the first items seized on closure of the business. Obtain the details of the liquidator and ask them for the information it is likely they will have access to the accounting files.

Bankrupt and closed businesses are still required to keep their business records, and to provide a new contact addresses. The bankruptcy court or the Secretary of State would have this new contact information so you can make your request for your payroll records.

Answer 7/7 - Submitted 7/16/2011

You can get in touch with the lawyer handling the bankruptcy.
The company still needs to keep all sorts of records, including employees salary record.
However, it is a hassle to go out of the way to get the salary record. You can get the same information by checking the bank deposit record instead.
