How to answer a motion/cross motion

I just received a notice stating that my future ex wife is moving forward on our divorce. Unfortunately, she will not cooperate in any way shape or form I tried to get an uncontested divorce which she agreed upon, then contested it. It's all about the ole mighty dollar which she has bleed me dry from for the past 7 years of our separation and now want's $600.00 per month for 5 years to cover the cost of her having to pay for reposessions, credit cards, etc..... I had to file bankruptcy because she was awarded a good sum of child maintenance, child support I sent enough money per month to cover the van payment and the mobile home that she insisted she had to keep and then to stick it to me had both repossed the bills were suppose to be paid with all of my income tax return/life insurance money but she paid nothing. I cannot afford an attorney and I know this will drag out forever costing more than what it's worth. I left her with everything only took my clothing. She has an attornery who will be representing her. I am currently at a stage 5 in renal failure and could start dialysis anytime now. 3X's per week 4 hrs.each time. I only have 1 kidney and it is pretty much failed. What does a hard working, dying man to do to be able to have a roof over his head and food to eat? I make 35,000. per year and currently pay 6,500. per yr child support. Even paid maintenance for 6 mos. while she attended training to be a home health aide. She works f/t and has a livein boyfriend for 5 or y

Have yo applied for legal aid? You might qualify for legal services, it doesn't hurt to apply and if you don't qualify, ask them to reccomend an atty that will take this case on payments or some arrangment.
In your response, just tell the court your situation, in plain english, spousal support, unlike CS is not govrned by as much statutory requirements, Most spousal support is a case "in equity"; "equity" doesnnot mean half and half; it means what is fair, and earned. It is rare for a working class man to be stuck with spousal suppot if the wife has not made some significan career scarifice for the marriage and him. Spousal support is one of the few types of case, that a lay person can argue their case almost as good a s lawyer can, because itis based on "fundamental firness." ( use those words repeatedly in court)
If you alreday filed BK, you have no obligation to that debt.

try legal aid, to find an office
