I would say you should choose by price, how much work they require you to do, and their track record. I don't know if it's a federal law or state, but I recently did my own backruptcy, and in my state CO - your required to take a prebankruptcy class. The people that do those classes haveof info on lawyers. I suggest you google "bankruptcy court" and your state.
I did my own bankruptcy - No Lawyer! I saved myself well over 1000 dollars. If it's a simple chaper 7 I would say do it yourself. A lawyer is going to charge you over 1400 to do something you could do. Also, many of the lawyers make you fill out all the paperwork. The only thing they do is show up for your hearing. That's why I say ask what you have to do when choosing your lawyer. Why pay them to do nothing.
