Yes, it is possible to pay off a chapter 13 bankruptcy early, however, you must have the agreement of your chapter 13 trustee. The chapter 13 trustee may not be agreeable to that until you are close to being done with the plan anyway.
If you are interested in trying to pay your plan off early, contact your bankruptcy attorney who helped you file your case so that your attorney in turn, can contact your chapter 13 trustee with your request. The chapter 13 trustee's office will then run a calculation of the amounts you have paid in, what distributions have been made so far, and what distributions, if any, still need to be made. The chapter 13 trustee will also calculate in any fees that the trustee needs to be paid, as well as any attorney fees or administrative expenses that must be paid. The trustee's office will then give you a final figure for paying off the plan.
Once you have that figure from the trustee, you will know if it is an amount that you can come up with. If it is, you can make that final payment, your discharge will be entered, the trustee will issue his final report, and then a final decree will be entered closing out your case.
Chapter 13 debtors must also remember that there is a mandatory financial management course that must be taken before you can receive your discharge. You must be sure to take care of this requirement and file the certificate of completion of that course with the court.
