Can a repo man come get a car I am filing for bankruptcy. behind car payments would like to refiance my car after court. can repo man get car while i have filed? how can i get a good car payment afterwards? thank you |

You can Re-affirm your car if you are filing chp 7, if you are filing chp 13 you should be able to keep the car with a reduced payment that is included in your bk. the one thing to remember is even if you surrender the car the lein will survive the Bk. The repo should be stopped as soon as you filed for bk and went through your 341 meeting, then they would be aware of your intentions with the vehicle. Car payments wont be good regardless, after you file bk your credit score will take a hit so it wont be easy getting a loan for it, or refinancing a current loan.
