Bankruptcy Attorney Basics? Bankruptcy Attorney Basics? |
Answer 1/4 - Submitted 10/16/2009
I have to ask, are you taking a test or something? It seems like with all the questions about bankruptcy (It's like you're flooding the forum with them) you're either taking a test or want to a void seeing a lawyer who specializes in bankruptcies. If it's the former, there is an abundance of information on the web and at the library. If it's the latter, then it's probably going to be best for you to see a lawyer to get your questions answered or to help walk you through the process. Trust me, I've seen some pretty bad situations in which a person didn't get a lawyer and wound up getting shafted for something the BK could have covered.

I wasn't trying to be rude, mind you, so please don't take it that way. I appreciate the award for the other answer. I just wanted to be clear. A lot of times it's best to get the expert opinion face-to-face with someone well qualified. I believe that even the attorneys who consult on this forum would give similar advice. Depending on how much is at stake for you, a good BK lawyer who knows all the ins and outs could be a benefit. At the very least it will be a "wash" financially and you won't lose your pants. ;o)
